Doing What's Right

Occasionally I need to remind myself that I am, indeed, a very faithful and spiritual person. That woman hasn't exactly asserted herself here within the past few weeks. The person posting here has been more of a cranky, angry, in-dire-need-of-therapy-woman.

I'm really not. You just happen to be reading some of my most intimate thoughts. Seems funny to post something so important on the Internet, doesn't it? In reality, though, there's some catharsis in knowing what I'm saying is validated and is being heard...by someone. It's hard to talk to the people closest to you; everyone knows that. Failure to communicate is the number one reason people divorce, families are divided and friends go separate ways.

I like our faceless relationship. Some of you aren't totally faceless, and that's okay. As I've shared my soul, debated my issues and exposed my ignorance I've found kinship along the way: you are the cyber-family that keep me going some days. Bless you all for that. You know exactly who you are.

So, today is Sunday, which is appropriate for today's amazing devotional, which I am going to plagiarize from Grace for the Moment, Volume 1, by Max Lucado. Considering what's been going through my head lately, it seems as if God put this daily devotion right on March 18th because He knew I needed my pants straightened.

I'd like to share with you:

DOING WHAT'S RIGHT

Every child who is a child of God conquers the world. And this is the victory that conquers the world~our faith. 1 John 5:4

You get impatient with your own life, trying to master a habit or control a sin~and in your frustration begin to wonder where the power of God is. Be patient. God is using today's difficulties to strengthen you for tomorrow. He is equipping you. The God who makes things grow will help you bear fruit.

Dwell on the fact that God lives within you. Think about the power that gives you life. The realization that God is dwelling in you may change the places you want to go and the things you want to do today.

Do what is right this week, whatever it is, whatever comes down the path, whatever problems and dilemmas you face~just do what's right. Maybe no one else is doing what's right, but you do what's right. You be honest. You take a stand. You be true. After all, regardless of what you do, God does what is right: He saves you with His grace.
